Alan is incredible! My ACT score was a 29 and I needed a higher score to receive better scholarships. I tried group tutoring sessions with other companies (that cost the same or more) and experienced no increase in my scores. I worked with Alan only three times and he brought my composite score up 5 points, my English score up 9 points, and I received a perfect score on science. He was extremely enthusiastic when working with me and was very positive. I never felt that getting a question wrong was a set back because he always made it an opportunity to learn.

My daughter needed tutoring for the ACT exam going into her senior year. We began with a large retail tutoring company, and after paying a large upfront fee, my daughter hated going, her scores didn’t improve and even dropped in one area. This is when Alan was referred to us. My daughter started tutoring with Alan, and immediately we noticed an improvement in her attitude towards tutoring. After a few weeks my daughter retook the ACT, and she had increased her overall score by 4 points and had a six point jump in math. We attribute this to Alan’s teaching methods and giving my daughter the skills, tricks, encouragement and confidence she needed to feel better prepared to retake the test. Alan’s easy going, relaxed personality helped my daughter enjoy her sessions, allowing her to better absorb the information and providing her with the much needed confidence she was lacking.

10/10 experience tutoring with Alan! Not only did my SAT math score rise from a 630 to a 720, but Alan has constantly been committed to helping me succeed. His sessions are fantastic whether they are one on one or with a group. During one on one sessions we would review so much and I would retain all of it. Thank you, Alan for everything! We hired Alan to tutor our daughter in preparation for the SAT. We used another tutor previously, and it wasn't a match. Alan put our daughter at ease and helped her to prepare for types of questions and strategies for improving her speed and accuracy.
But, even more powerful, he helped to identify her stressors and better control them, giving her more confidence resulting in an increase of over 100 points on the test!

I used Alan for GRE tutoring for a couple of months. In this time, he was able to help me raise my GRE score over 20 percentile points. I had prior experience with GRE tutors, but Alan was by far my best experience. He tailored every practice exam and tutoring session to my specific needs. He also spent lots of time outside of our sessions preparing practice material for me. He also ensured that I understood basic principles behind each concept, instead of just throwing a bunch of practice problems at me. In addition to all the great GRE skills he gave me, he is also very personable and always kept our sessions fun and upbeat! I highly recommend Alan for any tutoring needs!
